Client:  Client project for the company founder.

TLDR

THE PROBLEM:

Therapeutic patients looking to improve their mental well-being struggle to assess and track their progress due to a lack of structured, user-friendly systems that provide meaningful and measurable insights and guidance.

SOLUTION

Ideally, there should be a strong correlation between the patient improvement scores and the therapist's competencies

IMPACT

After designing an interface where the patients and the therapists could track their progress, evaluate their methodologies, and see their improvement scores, the client(company founder) was very happy and wanted to start working on them.

OVERVIEW:

Mental wellness is about actively cultivating a positive and healthy state of mind, not just the lack of mental health problems.

As of 2025, several therapy specializations are experiencing heightened demand due to evolving societal needs and increased awareness of mental health.

The Client approached us with ideas of designing a better system to find therapists based on their competencies and also suggested courses to improve or upskill their methodologies. He also wanted to incorporate a rating system and an evaluation center to track patients' progress throughout their journey.

HEURISTIC ANALYSIS:

  1. Brightsity is a website that offers courses that aim to increase competencies and skills as they relate to the user's desired profession.  Perhaps therapists could be referred to the courses provided if they want to improve in specific competencies to serve their clients better and increase their credibility as effective practitioner.

  2. Ungrade.us is a web-based portal that provides an example of how Assessments have been presented to the user (specifically on the Dashboard and Evaluation Center pages.

Inspired by the above designs of the websites, we moved on in our UX journey by creating a proto persona, customer journey, and flows, and then onto the Wireframes.

USER PERSONA:

Based on the client's requirements, a proto persona was made to concentrate on the patient’s goals and pain points.

Customer Journey and Flows:

After getting a clear understanding of the requirements from the client and conducting a heuristic analysis of the competitors, the team has come up with customer journeys and user flows to further simplify the tasks one must complete to track one's journey during therapy.

The screenshots below have detailed flows and journeys.

WIREFRAME SKETCHES & WIREFRAMES

WIREFRAMES:

Wrapping up-

Learnings:

  • Finding therapists and sticking to therapy is one thing, but tracking the progress, journaling the thoughts, and visualising the data with improvements in competencies is a game-changer for a patient as well as a therapist.

  • The ability to compare therapists based on the ratings or reviews on how their methodologies worked for others was a very interesting part of this project that required a good amount of research and heuristic analysis done on my part.

  • Also, working on a real-time project with other designers has helped me understand how projects in real time work, and I also learnt a lot through this collaboration.

What’s next?

The client was really happy to see the wireframes and sample UI screen for the requested criteria. In the future, the client seemed very interested in continuing to work with us in improving the features and adding more ways to measure the competencies of the therapists, suggesting courses for the same.
